The Disappearance Of Michael Alan Sutherland – (A Case With No Leads)
When it comes to the vast majority of disappearances or mysteries, there’s usually some clues left in hindsight, but in the case of Michael Sutherland, this seems to be an exception. There are very little clues that can be verified and what we’re left with is an instance of someone being there one day and gone the next.
Background Info
Michael Alan Sutherland was 20 years old when he disappeared and by all accounts, he was in great mental and physical health at the time. He loved the outdoors and was a big fan of hiking, camping, as well as backpacking, this love for the outdoors was easy to note, and on his Facebook page, you can see various entries of him doing just that.
A Student Visiting Home
Michael came from a strongly religious family (Catholic / Christian) and this environment pushed him to be a strong student with many high school honors courses and AP classes at his high school Shorewood High. After high school, he went to Montana State University and had a Major in Biology with a minor in fish and wildlife.
In 2015, Michael would come home from school just finishing his sophomore year to visit his family, and on Friday, June 26th, 2015, he was seen on the Interurban Trail at around 2pm local time.
He was seen on his bike headed south around N 125th St when he supposedly had come across an old friend and they chatted for a bit.
Mike was supposedly seen at this time with an unidentified female on the back of his bike.
The friend did not recognize the girl he was with and she did not say anything during this interaction. To this day, this woman has never been identified.
Later that same night would be Michael’s final confirmed sighting at his home in Shoreline, Seattle by his family.
Mike left the house without his wallet, any kind of money, or ID, he didn’t have his backpack hiking gear, or even his bicycle. There seems to be no intention of this being a planned outing.
His phone was the only thing believed that took with him however, it has been inactive since the night he went missing.
The Search For Michael
Ever since Michael went missing this has prompted his family to look for him. Given the fact that he is over 18, he is legally allowed to go missing, however, after countless fliers have been put up there has been little to no result.
Some possible sightings pointed towards him being around the downtown area and other’s as far as Reno Nevada.
To this day the best place to get up-to-date information on this subject would be the family’s personal Facebook page.
A Final Clue
Soon after local discussion began the search a comment from the user on reddit u/Makes_People_Mad.

CardI wouldn’t overall put much into a user from reddit’s account of the story as it is all too common to add your own details however this account does appear to be from Seattle and might be a possibility.
Given the fact that the woman was never identitified it does leave some room for speculation on this end however does not rule out any possibilities.

My hunch feeling is that he ran away – his phone being also missing, but inactive, could indicate he swapped SIM cards to a pre-paid.
